Jesus is King and not just king, but King of kings (refer to Revelation 17:14, 19:16). This is great news because the time is coming when He will overcome those that oppose His kingdom. So what does His kingdom look like? In John 18:36 Jesus makes it clear that His kingdom is not of this world. Yes in the sense that it began in heaven but also in the sense that His kingdom is not established on worldly standards. Where the world says to be prideful, He says be humble, where the world says be selfish, He says be sacrificial. As citizens of this kingdom (Colossians 1:13) we are called to this kingdom way of living, and can give others a glimpse of this kingdom here on earth.
